Oats ALEXI Variety
Alexi is spring variety, early ripening, with high ecological plasticity, semi- high stem, resistant to lodging. It is a high yielding, draught resistant spring oats.
Alexi variety is characterized with high productive abilities (up to 30% higher yield than the standard Obrztsov choflik 4 variety). Under the conditions of the Institute "Obraztsov chiflik" - Rousse, the average yield obtained was 640 kg/da. Its coefficient of draught resistance is high (K = 0,81). The content of crude protein in the grain is 15,3%, the mass of 1000 grains – 34 g. The grain is coarse, colored in golden yellow. It was recognized by the State Agency for Variety Maintenance Seed Testing and Seed Control in 2007.
Because of the high content of protein, soluble plant fibres and amino acids in the grain and its good chemi-technological qualities, Alexi variety possesses abilities for various using as for forage, so in the food processing industry – for the production of oat flakes and dietetic foods.
Oats JUBILEE 4 Variety
Jubilee 4 is a winter oats variety, created at IASS "Obraztsov chiflik" – Rousse.
It is cultivated mainly for grain. The stem is mid-high, strong, without lodging. The average yield obtained is 530 kg/da. The crude protein content in the grain is 14,4%, and the mass of 1000 seeds – 35,7 g. It is comparatively more resistant to rusts and powdery mildew than the standard Danube 1. The vegetation period is 267 days long. It has a good winter resistance.
The variety is well grown on soils of every type. The sowing must take place to the end of September with 500 germinating seeds/1 m 2.
Oats ROUSSE 8 Variety
Rousse 8 is a winter oats variety, created at IASS "Obraztsov chiflik" – Rousse.
It is cultivated mainly for green mass. It is with high stem, well frondose, without lodging, appropriate for joint cultivation with winter forms of peas. The variety is high productive, exceeding the standard Danube 1 in grain yield average by 13%. The crude protein content in the grain is 15,2%, and the mass of 1000 seeds is 33 g. The vegetation period is 260 days long. It is well grown on soils of every type. The sowing must take place to the end of September in the North Bulgaria and up to 5 October in the South Bulgaria, with 500 germinating seeds/1 m 2.
Oats PRISTA 2 Variety
The spring oats variety Prista 2 was created at the IASS "Obraztsov chiflik" – Rousse, after the method of the inter variety hybridization. The duration of its vegetation period is 135 days. Prista 2 is a low stem variety, the plants being 100 cm high.
Prista 2 variety is characterized with high productive abilities. During the period 1989 – 1991 under the conditions of IASS "Obraztsov chiflik:" – Rousse the average yield obtained was 417,1 kg/da. Regarding that index it exceeded the standard variety Obraztsov chiflik 4 average by 10,6%. Average for the three years it exceeded the standard also in the contents of crude protein, oils and starch in the grain. It distinguishes by good chemi-technological qualities – 25% lodicules, 14% crude protein and 33,2 g mass of 1000 grains.
It shows resistance to rust and covered smut of oats. It is resistant to lodging. Prista 2 distinguishes by high draught resistance. Prista 2 variety is appropriate for forage and as raw material in food industry. It was recognized by State Variety Commission in 1996.
